Character: Phonoi Deity Name: Xeno, Yjro, Zero Pantheon: Greek Current Alias: N/A Apparent Age: Late 20's to very early 30's. Occupation: Odd Jobs
Personality: You have three boys. They tend to think alike, tend to like all the same things. Killing people. Causing death on a mass scale. Of course, if you look really closely - that is, if you live long enough in their company to be able to look past the exterior of blood and dying - you'll see that each boy is an individual. Each boy has a distinct favorite thing in life, a specialty. Their own likes and dislikes. Their own strengths and weaknesses. They match and compliment each other well, though like any siblings they do have their moments of in-fighting and disagreements. Usually solved through violence, or by Xeno who basically has the end-all say over the other two. Not that they don't rebel every once in a while.
While all the boys are exceedingly violent and enjoy killing, it can be said that each one enjoys certain instruments more than the others. They all like loud, heavy music, random bits of metal that can be turned into clothing, raw meat and tattoos. They don't deal much with piercings, mostly because piercings can be ripped out at inconvenient times, and things like that are to be avoided.
Life is pretty much a giant party for these three. Violence happens all over the world all the time, and a lot of it just happens to be some kind of murder. It never ceases to amaze them just what kind of thoughts that the general public has that they never share with those around them, and what they can be prodded into doing with very little effort. They are very very connected to humanity, without whom they would likely not exist. Outright murder doesn't exist very much in nature, the animal population that kills for no reason is extremely small, focusing mostly on dolphins and some species of non-human simian. There is the ever-present worry that there will one day be the realized vision of Utopia, rendering the Phonoi both useless and non-existant. They can only hope that if that happens, they will be able to nudge back in the violence before it's too late for them.
For all the things in the world that they like and are attuned to, there are a few things out there that irritate and annoy. They do not, for example, enjoy Christmas and Thanksgiving, where much of the world attempts to be nice and friendly to one another, and suicides take over the death count. On these two days they are avoidant of others and pretty grouchy. If anybody tries to come into contact with them, if they aren't ignored, they're likely not ever seen again. They much prefer Valentine's day which, besides the famous massacre in 1929, is generally rampant with jealousy and people finding out that their spouses aren't faithful, which leads to hot-headed acts of passion ending in slaughter. Plus the fact that the international symbol in celebration of the day is a human heart doesn't hurt things at all.
Xeno - The oldest. The leader. The one generally in charge of things. If any of them can be considered to be level headed, it would be this one. The other two look to him to instruct them on what to do if they don't have their own ideas, and to come up with things if they're bored. Xeno doesn't mind this much at all. He likes being looked up to, and followed. He also likes that he doesn't really have to listen to anybody else. It's just not his thing.
His arrogance could be considered a weakness, but it's also a strength. He's sure of himself and what he does, and never hesitates. For the times that it's gotten him into tight spots, it's worked to his advantage more often. He generally doesn't care what other people think of him, and acts accordingly. He's protective of his brothers, and if anybody hurts them, or tries to hurt them, he'll respond in kind. Though often not so much in kind as more brutally and violently.
Xeno's favorite way to kill people is with guns. He loves guns of all kinds, and has a vast collection of them at his disposal.
Yjro - The middle brother. Maybe the most forgotten about, because he doesn't say much of anything at any time. He's not very vocal in his ideas and thoughts. It's hard to tell at any given time what he's thinking about, if he's even thinking about anything. He's the follower of the three, not saying much at all if a plan is put forth, not giving much in the way of input, but also not arguing points. He'll do what he's told when he's told. Yjro is very good at taking orders and following instructions. You could consider Yjro to be the calm little center of the Phonoi world, taking special care in the things he does and the ways that he kills. His creations, explosives and otherwise, are his true passions in life, and he tends to take them very seriously.
He's also quite good at figuring things out. Puzzles and seemingly impossible scenarios. If something is put in front of him, he can fix it or figure it out without putting forth much effort.
Yjro is quite fond of killing people with explosions and poisons. Sometimes both, just to see which one takes effect quicker.
Zero - Here you have the youngest brother, and also the largest brother. He's a bit fun loving, if you consider the rampant killing and slaughtering of innocents to be fun. He can be playful at times, which can get him into trouble. Mostly with his older brothers. Though, admittedly, they occasionally find him amusing and even slightly refreshing. He's a bit of a loose cannon when he's set loose on the world. Going overboard and venturing into the realm of (literal) overkill. But whether it's him being out of control, or just a lot of enthusiasm is hard to say. Zero sits firmly in the middle of both his siblings. Not a leader, but not a follower. He'll make suggestions and even come up with ideas on his own. But he won't put much argument into it if somebody is very adamant about what they want to do.
Zero quite likes to use blades on people. He's fond of skinning them while they're still alive, as well. And using that skin in gifts to other people.
With all three of the boys, there's a strong disinterest in authority figures. They don't listen well to anybody who tries to outright tell them what to do. It's a different matter if somebody makes a suggestion, or asks them to take a certain path. That they're more likely to consider and follow.
They don't, however, mind being used to another's ends if the doings interest them or amuse them.
History: Ever wonder where certain people come from? That it just doesn't seem right that certain people should be alive at all? You have your chemically imbalanced crazies, but there's also a whole separate cache of folk who seem to crop up from nowhere. Ted Bundy, Ed Gein, Charles Manson, David Berkowitz, Aileen Wuornos, Jack the Ripper. These and many more who seem to be a different breed. Human-shaped monsters who walk the world among the normal people.
Those are the sort of people who are encouraged by the Phonoi. The voices in their heads aren't always their own. Or a 3,000 year old black lab named Harvey. There are always some people in the world who take to the suggestions better than others do, and those are the ones who don't need constant pushing. All of this is done mostly for their own amusement. They like to watch humans kill each other. Hunt each other. Even just hurt each other. Also, the more murder happens, the more power the Phonoi get, even though they'd rather be doing such things themselves it's just as good if others are doing it as well.
They were never what you might call 'good' or 'normal' children. Taking to killing animals when they were very young, and moving on to bigger and better things before they could really be told to stop. Nobody was ever quite able to control them, even their mother. They ran around and did whatever twisted things came to mind, to whomever they could get their hands on.
Shortly after discovering humans, they learned that humans die in pretty ways. And could be killed in a multitude of manners. Experimentation was early and often. Each boy almost immediately took to a certain way of slaughter, though all manner of death was wrought upon the mortals by all three. Every great horror that the world has seen, they have been present for. Most of the time as more than just spectators. Occasionally committing their own crimes and masking it to look like the crimes of others just to up the body count. Sometimes they do just like to watch, though. Voyeurs standing on the outskirts of the party, getting their jollies by people watching. They've actually gotten more than a few really twisted ideas by watching humans do their own thing.
Going to America was easy. The violence was everywhere. Even from the very start everything about the country was violent. It was attractive. They learned and grew within the new rules quite easily. Making it their home. They kind of reside anywhere they can. Taking the homes of the people they kill until it's time to move on. Occasionally they live in whatever vehicle they've stolen, and rarely, they pay for motel rooms in which to harbor themselves. They are the grandchildren of Zeus and Hera, being the sons of Eris, but they don't quite fit into the general Olympian Mountain caste. Occasionally they visit, but it's usually made short by those who used make their homes on the mountain.
